Tropical Storm Gordon became the seventh named storm of the 2012 Atlantic Hurricane Season overnight. Gradual strengthening is expected today, and Gordon might even become a weak hurricane over the weekend. The forecast path for Gordon takes the storm to the northwest today, then there will likely be a sharp turn to the east. Gordon is forecast to become extra-tropical early next week and remain only a shipping interest in the northern Atlantic Ocean.
