2/1: Hard Freeze Possible Tonight

Exclusive Futuretrack showing projected 5am temperatures and where a hard freeze is possible (in pink).

A Freeze Warning has been issued for all of North-Central Florida (excluding the coastlines) for the second night in a row.  And tonight could be even colder than last night!  In fact, a hard freeze is possible in the Nature Coast agricultural regions where the mercury could dip below the freezing mark for six hours.  Actual lows in these rural locations will likely dip into the upper 20s.  Further east, and in most of the urban areas including Gainesville and Ocala, the overnight lows will dip to near 30 with sub-freezing readings for approximately 2 to 4 hours.  Action should be taken quickly this evening to prevent damage to crops, protect plants, and take care of pets that are sensitive to the cold.
