It’s the weekend North-Central Floridians have been waiting on! The perfect combination of sun, warmer temperatures, comfortable breezes, and low humidity could make this weekend the most optimal time for outdoor activities so far this early spring. In a “Huffman Heads Up”, we can’t really say the same about next weekend as a more unsettled weather pattern is likely to unfold.
Whether it be attending the GatorNationals, playing some golf, or even sitting out by the pool, the weather should cooperate for all of our outdoor plans through Monday. Temperatures may still be a bit cool for pool or beach-goers Friday, but as southwest winds increase Saturday and Sunday, many locations will experience afternoon highs well into the 70s and even approaching 80 on Sunday. The only potential negative influences of those southwest winds will be a slight increase in cloud cover at times and a noticeable increase in humidity on Sunday.
The upper-level winds are expected to shift by next weekend, possibly delivering a period of unsettled or stormy weather to The Sunshine State. It is certainly too early for details, but do have enough confidence in the transition to give you even more of a reason to enjoy this weekend’s weather. As a cold front slows down or even stalls late next week in the Southeast, moisture from the Gulf of Mexico (and even possibly a disturbance) could trigger multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms next Saturday through Monday (23rd through 25th). We will keep you updated as information on the timing and specifics becomes available. In the mean time, enjoy your marvelous spring-like weekend!
