NCAA Questioning Miami About Booster

August 16, 2011

The NCAA and its investigators reportedly visited the University of Miami campus on Monday to probe allegations a booster gave improper benefits and money to Hurricane football players.

The NCAA is specifically looking at Nevin Shapiro who claims he gave the money to Hurricane players as far back as when Larry Coker was coaching the team. Shapiro was convicted in a Ponzi and investment fraud scheme and was sentenced to 20 years in prison but that has not stopped him from apparently speaking to the NCAA about the allegations.

Shapiro is also saying he will write a tell all book about the situation as well.
