Mississippi State vs Missouri Tigers Basketball Preview

This Saturday, January 27th, the Mississippi State Bulldogs will be hosting the Missouri Tigers. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 12 in the SEC with a 14-6 record. Meanwhile, the Tigers are ranked No. 9 in the SEC with a 13-7 record. Both teams are very similar on the stats board. The pair average about 74 points per game and make about 46% of their field goals. The Tigers allow 66.8 points per game and the Bulldogs allow 65.4 points per game.

While the ESPN Basketball Power Index has Mississippi State a 53% favorite over Mizzou, the Bulldogs are coming off two straight road loses to Alabama 68-62 and Kentucky 78-65.

The leading scorer this season has been junior guard, Quinndary Weatherspoon. Who’s put up 294 points this season and averaging 14.7 a game.

Junior forward, Aric Holman, has also been on his game. He averages a .613% field goal, .691 free throws, and .500 3-pointers.

Missouri Tigers

The Tigers are looking to bounce back after 2 straight SEC losses to Texas A&M, 60-49, and Auburn, 91-73.

Mizzou seems solid at the free throw line. With their top scorers, Kassius Robertson, Jordan Barnett and Kevin Puryear all shooting over .835. The team, however, does struggle from 3-point range only making 183 of 482 this season.

A big play maker for the team this year has been senior forward, Jordan Barnett. Who averages 14.8 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and is .911  for free throws. And senior guard, Kassius Robertson, averages the most points per game qith 15.5.
