The Florida Gator baseball team is one and done at the SEC Tournament as it drops a 6-3 decision to Texas A&M on Tuesday in Hoover, Alabama.
Florida is now 29-28 on the year and will have to sweat it out to see if they get an NCAA Regional bid; those are announced on Monday.
If a committee looks at Florida’s recent numbers, it won’t like what it sees. The Gators are 2-8 in their last 10 SEC games and the losses at times have not been competitive.
In this game, Florida got off to a 2-0 lead but Gator starting and losing pitcher Johnny Magliozzi could not hold the lead. The Aggies went up 3-2, Florida tied it, but then Magliozzi left the game trailing 5-3.
The Gators could only muster five hits in the game and they struck out 11 times while also committing two costly errors and allowing six Aggie stolen bases.
