USF Hosts Florida in Baseball Home Opener

The Florida baseball team will have its first test away from Gainesville this season as they take on USF tonight in Tampa. USF is 2 and 1 and come off a 12-4 win against Alabama State on Sunday. Florida will head into tonight’s match up after winning all three games on opening weekend.

Florida will send sophomore Brett Morales to the mound Wednesday. Morales was supposed to deal last night against Florida A&M before the game was postponed due to weather early Tuesday morning. Morales will be making his first trip to the hill for the Orange and Blue in 2015.

The USF starter will be Tommy Peterson. The redshirt freshman Peterson is 0-0 on the season.  Last time USF faced Florida they fell 8-2 in May of 2014.

First pitch for USF’s home opener is set for set for 6:30 tune into ESPN8550 at 6:25 for coverage.
