Monday Sports Update (3/2)

The month of March brings us a lot of Gator sports, NASCAR, NBA and more in our Monday Sports Update…

** The Florida baseball team is now 10-1 after a weekend sweep of Stony Brook at home; UF won 6-2 Sunday and will now play at UCF Tuesday.

** The Florida women’s basketball team ends its regular season with a 52-45 home loss to Georgia Sunday.   Next is the SEC Tournament where the Gators (13-16, 5-11 SEC) are a 12 seed and they will face 11 seed Auburn Wednesday at 7 pm in Little Rock, Arkansas.

** The Florida women’s tennis team is now 10-1 and 2-0 in the SEC after beating Auburn 5-0 Sunday.  Next match is at LSU this weekend.

** Jimmie Johnson wins the NASCAR race in Atlanta.  Kevin Harvick was second and Dale Earnhardt Jr. third.

** In the NBA, Orlando loses 98-83 to Charlotte as their record falls to 19-42 on the season.  Miami hosts Phoenix tonight.
