The Florida baseball team is now 13-2 on the year after beating Maine 6-1 Saturday in Gainesville.
Much like on Friday, Florida scored four runs in the second inning to basically seal the game. The key hit of the inning was a two out, three run double by Buddy Reed.
Florida starting pitcher AJ Puk gets the win, pitching into the sixth inning and giving up one run. Veteran lefty Danny Young pitched the rest of the way, not allowing a run in picking up the save.
Freshman Mike Rivera leads Florida at the plate, going 4 for 4 on the day.
Junior outfielder Harrison Bader had to leave the game after injuring himself on the bases after he hit a single. Gator coach Kevin O’Sullivan said after the game it could be a sprained ankle and his status for Sunday and beyond is uncertain.
