Monday Sports Update (3/16)

Gator sports, Gatornationals, a coach fired and more in our Monday Sports Update…

** Lots of Gator sports on Sunday.   Gator baseball beat Tennessee 9-4 while Gator softball loses 10-3 to LSU.   Both Gator tennis teams win as well.

** Gatornationals is history for another year.   Ron Capps (Funny Car), Spencer Massey (Top Fuel), Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) get NHRA wins in the finals on Sunday.

** In NASCAR, Kevin Harvick wins his fourth straight race, this time the stop in Phoenix.   Dating back to last year, he now has seven straight top two finishes.

** March Madness is here with the NCAA Tournament brackets announced yesterday.  The women’s bracket is announced tonight.   Five SEC teams are in the tournament on the men’s side.

** The Florida men’s basketball season is officially over after the team was not invited to the NIT and it declined invitations to two other tournaments.

** Former Gator assistant coach Anthony Grant was fired as Alabama’s head coach after six seasons.
