Florida men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan is still mulling over his decision; to stay at the University of Florida or continue discussions and possibly take a job offer from the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.
Multiple sources have reported that Donovan could make a decision within the next day or two. Most believe the Thunder job is Donovan’s to turn down as well.
Donovan and his family are entrenched in Gainesville and his family would have to approve his move to Oklahoma City and there are reports that Donovan also wants to meet with OKC’s big three players-Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka, before possibly taking the job.
Durant can become a free agent after next season.
A source told ESPN 850 WRUF sports that Donovan is “serious” about the job offer and that he “would not be surprised” if he took the OKC job. However, the source also said there had been no indication from Donovan as to whether or not he would accept the NBA job offer.
