Game Week Finally Here For Gator Football

The college football season begins this week and the Florida Gators will play their first game Saturday at home against New Mexico State.   Gator coach Jim McElwain will talk about the game later today.

In other sports news…

** The Florida soccer team beats top ranked FSU 3-2 in Gainesville Sunday.   UF is now 3-1 on the year.

** Gator volleyball is 2-0 after a four set win over American University on Sunday.

** NFL teams must get their rosters down to 75 players by tomorrow.   Teams will be doing a lot of cutting to get down to that number.

** In baseball, Tampa Bay edges Kansas City 3-2; the New York Yankees crush Atlanta 20-6 and Miami loses 7-4 to Washington.   Today Miami is at Atlanta while Tampa Bay plays Baltimore.

** The sixth no-hitter of the season is fired by Chicago Cubs righty Jake Arrieta as he blanks the LA Dodgers 2-0 Sunday.
