Los Angeles Rams Trade for Top Pick in NFL Draft

April 14, 2016

The NFL draft is still two weeks away but a colossal trade has already been made.

The Los Angeles Rams acquired the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft via a trade with the Tennessee Titans. The Titans gave up the top overall pick to the Rams in exchange for six additional picks over the next two drafts, including four in the first three rounds of this year’s draft.

Tennessee will receive the Rams’ original first-round pick at 15th overall, two second-rounders (43rd and 45th overall) and a third-round selection (76th) in the 2016 draft. The Titans will also receive Rams’ first- and third-round selections in 2017.

As seen in this tweet, courtesy of the Titans, Tennessee has six of the top 76 picks in this year’s draft.

The Los Angeles Rams’ are once step closer to becoming the first team on the clock once the draft commences on April 28, and the Rams are desperate to fill the quarterback position.

According to draft experts, the Rams will choose North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz or Cal’s Jared Goff as their first-round pick and quarterback.

Meanwhile, the Titans can acquire five players in the top three rounds to add depth to their roster.
