The Cincinnati Reds have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series playoff with the San Francisco Giants after hammering the Giants 9-0 Sunday. The best of five series now shifts to Cincinnati for the rest of the games.
In the other NLDS, Washington beats St.Louis 3-2 to go up 1-0; Game 2 is set for this afternoon.
In the American League Divisional Series, Detroit nips Oakland 5-4 to go up 2-0 with the rest of the games to now be played in Oakland. New York scores late to beat Baltimore 7-2 with Game 2 set for tonight in Baltimore.
In other baseball news, former Boston manager Terry Francona has been hired by the Cleveland Indians and Jim Tracy has resigned as the manager of the Colorado Rockies.
