** The New Orleans Saints improve to 3-5 on the year after ripping the Philadelphia Eagles at home 28-13. Both teams are now 3-5 and the Eagles have lost four straight.
** The NHL season, already postponed by a lockout, at least will have some hope of resuming as the players and the owners are scheduled to meet again.
** Fired Kentucky football coach Joker Phillips will coach the team’s last two games. The Wildcats are 1-9 on the year.
