LaRussa Retires; Tuesday Sports News And Notes
The manager of the St.Louis Cardinals, 67 year old Tony LaRussa, has announced his retirement.
LaRussa comes off winning a World Series title a few days ago while managing the Cardinals. The more than likely future Hall of Famer said he felt like it was just time to end his career.

- The Gator cross country teams did not win an SEC title at the SEC Championships held yesterday in Tennessee. The Gator men finished second while the Gator women were third.
- Baseball will have its free agent market open in three days and already there has been some player movement. Rather than opt out of his contract, pitcher C.C. Sabathia agreed to a new deal to stay with the New York Yankees. Atlanta trades pitcher Derek Lowe to Cleveland and Tampa Bay exercised its option to keep pitchers James Shields and Kyle Farnsworth.
- CBS has exercised its option to wait and see which game it will broadcast next week including the Florida at South Carolina game. As a result, no start time will be determined until a few days from now.
