Cardinals Win Game 1 Of World Series

October 20, 2011

The St.Louis Cardinals take Game 1 of the World Series in St.Louis on Wednesday night, beating the Texas Rangers 3-2.

It was a tightly contested game with lots of moves made by both managers. The best was by Cardinal skipper Tony LaRussa, who sent pinch hitter Allen Craig to hit for pitcher Chris Carpenter in the sixth inning and he delivered a base hit to drive in the go ahead run and the Cardinal bullpen made it stand up to make a winner of Carpenter. The winner of the first game of the World Series has taken seven of the last eight Fall Classics.

Game 2 is tonight with Jaime Garcia pitching for St.Louis against Colby Lewis for the Rangers.
