Florida Volleyball Receives Awards, Awaits NCAA Tournament

The SEC announced its 2012 volleyball individual and team awards earlier today.  The Florida Gators were well represented as three players/coaches received individual honors and five All-SEC honors.

Out of the individual honors, junior middle blocker Chloe Mann was named SEC Player of the Year, freshmen outside hitter Živa Recek received Freshmen of the Year honors, and head coach Mary Wise was given the Coach of the Year award.

The Gators also had the most All-SEC honors as junior setter Taylor Brauneis and senior hitter Tangerine Wiggs joined Mann and Recek in receiving awards as all of them were named First Team All-SEC.  Senior middle blocker Betsy Smith was named to the All-SEC Second Team.

The Gators next play Friday night as they host Tulsa in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
