Auburn Cleared Of Wrongdoing; Sports News And Notes
The NCAA, after an exhaustive investigation, has found no major violations committed by Auburn University in regards to the Cam Newton situation or any other pay for play scenarios. The NCAA released a statement late Wednesday saying its investigation into the football program was over after 13 months.

- Linebacker Dee Finley will transfer from Florida at the conclusion of this semester. Once a big time recruit for coach Urban Meyer, Finley has mostly been a special teams and backup player while with the Gators.
- No progress in talks between NBA players and owners. However, both sides did agree to employ a federal mediator to help with the lockout.
- The Boston Red Sox have now lost a division title, a manager, and now its general manager in a matter of a month or so. General Manager Theo Epstein is leaving the team to take a job as the GM of the Chicago Cubs.
