Trevor Lawrence, Three Bucs Top NFL Week 5 Fantasy Charts
Trevor Lawrence and Co. won a thriller against the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-28, at EverBank Stadium. The Jacksonville Jaguars were 3.5-point underdogs according to ESPN Bet, and stunned the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs on ‘Monday Night Football.’
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back in the win column after a massive victory against the Seattle Seahawks (3-2). The Bucs prevailed 38-35 in another nail-biting finish for the Florida squad.
Three of the team’s playmakers find themselves as this week’s fantasy football winners.
Winners
Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield
Mayfield completed another fourth-quarter comeback Sunday. The Bucs’ fourth win of the year came in redemption fashion. Mayfield completed 29-of-33 passes for 379 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback picked up his largest fantasy point total of the year with 26.6.
Mayfield has been playing at an MVP-caliber level this season. While he has had more than 20 points just twice, the signal caller has been instrumental in Tampa Bay’s 4-1 start. The win at Seattle was no exception.
The high-scoring duel at Lumen Field was one for the ages. Kicker Chase McLaughlin made a 39-yard game-winning field goal as time expired to allow the Bucs to bounce back after falling to the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Mayfield’s quality play in Week 5 propelled Tampa Bay to the crucial win.
Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka
Surprise, surprise. Egbuka is back in the fantasy ‘winners’ section. The rookie sensation put up 31.3 points in the Bucs’ matchup with the Seahawks. His point total is the largest of his young career.
Egbuka finished with 163 receiving yards on seven catches and a touchdown. That’s five scores in as many games for the Ohio State product.
Similar to last week, Mayfield had Egbuka and wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. to work with. The main difference in Week 5 was the rookie’s efficiency. Egbuka saw seven targets and reeled in each. He was thrown to 10 times in Week 4 and caught 40% of the passes.
It seems as if this has become a normal occurrence, but Egbuka should be a fantasy lock each week. He leads all rookie wide receivers in fantasy points and yards, and is ranked ninth among the league’s receivers.
Buccaneers RB Rachaad White
With White’s running mate Bucky Irving out for the next couple of weeks, White needs to step up. His name was called in Week 5 and he was quick to respond. The running back picked up his most fantasy points of the season at 23.1.
White’s 14 carries for 41 rushing yards and two touchdowns were accompanied by his four receptions for 30 yards.
The fourth-year man played a pivotal role in the Bucs’ win Sunday. Tampa Bay was able to play complementary football, even with its RB1 in Irving unavailable.
Having White as the lead back for the foreseeable future seemed like a question mark for the Bucs’ offense. Now, it’s clear that the ball carrier can take on the load.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence showed out on ‘Monday Night Football,’ which happened to be on his 26th birthday. He came out of primetime with 26.2 points, his most this season. The signal caller had a stacked final statline: 18-of-25 passes completed for 221 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Although, Lawrence was most effective on the ground.
The former first-overall draft selection had 10 carries for 54 yards and two touchdowns. His second rushing score came with 23 seconds remaining and propelled the Jags in front to seal the much-needed victory.

Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle
Waddle showed up in his first game as WR1 in 2025 for the Dolphins. The Alabama product posted six receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown for 23 fantasy points. His receiving yards total was his largest since Week 11 of the 2024 season.
With wide receiver Tyreek Hill out for the remainder of the season with a major knee injury, Waddle had large shoes to fill. Despite the Dolphins disastrous loss to the Carolina Panthers, the fifth-year receiver showed out when he had to.
Waddle’s 46-yard touchdown came when Miami needed it most. The score put the Dolphins back in front, 24-20. The team’s defense could not stop the Panthers’ dynamic rushing attack, even while being without starting running back Chuba Hubbard.
Waddle should remain a prime target for fantasy owners over the course of the season. Between him, running back De’Von Achane and tight end Darren Waller, the Dolphins’ offense may have to carry the team if they want to generate wins.
Losers
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin Jr.
Godwin went from seeing 10 targets in Week 4 to just four in Week 5. After reeling in 75% of the passes thrown to him, Godwin saw the same fantasy point total as last week, 5.6.
While it is only his second game back from injury, the Penn State product was expected to play a larger role in Sunday’s victory. He saw a significant drop in targets, but had the exact same statline as the week prior: three catches for 26 receiving yards.
With running mate Egbuka continuing his dominant stretch, Godwin’s lack of productivity should worry Bucs’ fans. Fantasy owners should steer away from starting the ninth-year man, especially with wide receiver Mike Evans returning in the coming weeks.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr.
Etienne has had a hot start to the 2025 season, but Week 5 was a different story. The running back finished Monday night with 8.8 points. Etienne’s total on primetime was his lowest of the year. He saw 12 carries for 49 yards in the win.
After coming off a season-high performance in Week 4 with 19.5 points, Etienne saw his least carries and yards of the year. The lack of production Monday for the ball carrier can be attributed to the increase in rushes by Lawrence.
Lawrence using his legs is not a rarity, but should not be used as a reason not to start Etienne in the future.
