Baseball Enters Final Regular Season Week; Wild Card Spots Up For Grabs
The big league baseball season enters its final week this week with the wild card spots in both leagues still undecided.
In the American League, Boston holds a one game lead over Tampa Bay after splitting a doubleheader with New York on Sunday while the Rays beat Toronto 5-2. Boston plays its final series at Baltimore while the Rays host the Yankees.
Los Angeles is three back in the wild card after blowing a lead and losing 6-5 to Oakland; the Angels end their year with a series with AL West champ Texas.
In the National League, Atlanta leads St.Louis by a game in the wild card race after the Braves lost 3-0 to Washington and the Cardinals edge Chicago 3-2. The Braves end the year with a series at home against NL East champ Philadelphia while the Cardinals play in Houston.
