Pitt And Syracuse Join ACC; Moves For Pac 12?

September 19, 2011

Pittsburgh and Syracuse will leave the Big East to join the ACC.

The move was announced Sunday and the ACC might not be done expanding; sources say the league has not ruled out adding more teams.

For the Big East, this is another round of trying to fill in for its bigger name teams and where it goes from here is anyone’s guess. The exit fee to leave the Big East is a reported five million dollars.

Meanwhile several published reports say the Pac 12 is going to move to add Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech from the Big 12 Conference. The Board of Regents at Oklahoma and Texas are scheduled to meet today to discuss future plans.
