No. 7 Florida Women’s Golf Leads at Gators Invitational

March 7, 2026

Although No. 7 Florida did not exactly replicate its program-low 271 score in the first round on Friday, the Gators still kept the momentum in round two of the Gators Invitational Saturday to stay in first place.

Florida shot 5-under par in round two as a team with four players occupying the top five of the player leaderboard, as they now have a -14 overall score in the tournament, 12 strokes ahead of second-place UNC (-2).

Junior Paula Francisco led the way for Florida, setting the tone in round two with three straight birdies on the first three holes. She ended strong with two birdies in the final three holes, putting her alone at first place on the player leaderboard.

Francisco finished with a team-best 5-under par Saturday, putting her at -7 overall on the weekend. She has nine birdies now in the tournament, right behind Wu’s 10.

Sophomore Siuue Wu continued to be on point after logging a career-low 65 on Friday, which was good for the second-lowest round in program history. She finished -1 on day two with two birdies in the final four holes, placing her second behind Francisco.

Freshman Katelyn Huber followed with a +1 score, putting her at fifth place after finishing second after round one. She started off well with one birdie and eight pars on the front nine, but a double-bogey on hole 10 dropped her score.

Fifth-year senior Megan Propeck bounced back after a +1 first round. She finished even Saturday thanks to one birdie and eight pars on the back nine. The former Virginia Cavalier is now +1 overall in the tournament, putting her in 14th.

Sophomore Addison Klonowski followed with a +2 overall score as she found herself 21st overall after two rounds. She had a rough start, with three bogeys in the front nine, but she finished strong with two birdies across the last four holes.

Individually, UF sophomore Elaine Widjaja led the way again with a -3 score. Juniors Sophie Stevens and Ines Archer followed her with a -1  and +5 outing respectively. Widjaja’s performance now puts her third on the player leaderboard.

Yesterday was a battle between Florida and the Cavaliers, but the Gators were able to pull away due to a +4 round from Virginia. The Tar Heels, who went two-over par on Friday, finished -4 on day two to overtake UVA (-1) for second place overall.

Despite Florida shooting four strokes worse in round two, the team still maintain control as they look to secure their 28th victory in the tournament.

The event will conclude with the final 18 holes in round three Saturday with tee time set for 9:30 a.m.
