Buchholz Boys Lacrosse Puts on Scoring Frenzy for Blowout Win

March 13, 2026

Buchholz Bobcats boys lacrosse put on a scoring clinic Thursday, 15-3, against visiting Tallahassee Chiles High School.

It was a running clock from the nine-minute mark in the third quarter of the blowout.

The Bobcats (7-5) started hot when midfielder Ryan Pomeranz scored the first goal two minutes into the game. Senior Richie Bendekovic scored two goals to put Buchholz up 3-0 by the end of the first.

BHS showed no mercy in the second quarter by scoring seven unanswered goals, with six different players putting them up 10-0 going into half.

The Bobcats continued to run up the score coming out of half. They made five more goals in the second half before Chiles (5-6) made its first with 5:40 left in the match.

Chiles was able to score two more goals once Buchholz subbed out some of its starters.

“The last two games we’ve seen zone,” Buchholz coach Casey Adams said. “We were just really trying to make sure the offense is prepared to play against them, because it’s much different than what we would normally run.”

Pomeranz, Bendekovic and senior captain Drew King had hat tricks.

King, an attacker, was a vocal leader for the Bobcats throughout the match.

“Defense came out and really set the tempo,” King said. “We were getting saves and getting the ball back down to our offense, which is our specialty.”

Heading into spring break on back-to-back wins, Adams said he will give his team time off due to its front-loaded schedule. The Bobcats play March 24 and host Palm Coast Matanzas High School (1-7).
