Gators Gymnastics Secures No. 3 Seed in NCAA Gymnastics Championship

March 23, 2026

After claiming the SEC Gymnastics Championship title on Saturday, Florida Gymnastics earned the No. 3 seed for the 2026 NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship.

The Gators defeated the regular season SEC champion and reigning NCAA champion Oklahoma to earn the conference title. Florida won with a score of 198.175, finishing just 0.025 points over Oklahoma. LSU placed third, 0.225 points behind the Gators.

Florida sits behind the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners, and the No. 2 LSU Tigers.

The Gators seek to end their decade-long NCAA drought, with their last title being claimed in 2015. Junior Kayla DiCello, says that she expects the team to use last weekend’s momentum to its advantage.

“Still very excited about what we did this past weekend,” DiCello said. “ Just going back into the gym, focusing on every single little detail so that when we get to regionals, we are good to go.”

Florida will head to Tempe, Arizona to compete in the second round of the NCAA championship where they will face a field consisting of Georgia, Michigan State, California, Penn State, BYU, Southern Utah, Arizona State and Arizona.

Gators head coach Jenny Rowland says she is excited to head to the west coast, where her gymnastics career began, and that the team’s experience will be key heading into the regional matchup.

“To have every single athlete together on that stage and understand the feels, the emotions and everything that goes with it helps the team a lot,” Rowland said. “This team is quite experienced.”

Florida will compete in the second round of the regional, which begins on April 2nd.
