Florida Softball Remains No. 7 Following Series Win Over Auburn
Following the weekend, the Softball America Rankings saw some changes, yet Florida held steady, maintaining their No. 7 spot after a series matchup against Auburn.
The Florida Gators (43-6, 16-5 SEC) dominated the Auburn Tigers (24-21, 3-15 SEC) in the first game of the series with a 9-1 run-rule victory in five innings
However, Auburn fought back in game two, shutting out Florida in a 4-0 win while out-hitting the Gators eight to five.
In the rubber-match Sunday, Florida chomped its way to a 7-1 victory on Sunday, taking the series over their SEC opponent.
Following game two, Jocelyn Erickson and Kenleigh Cahalan each earned Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Golden Tickets in a post-game ceremony. The Golden Ticket signifies that they have each been drafted to play in the AUSL.
The Gators have advanced to 43-6 overall, winning six SEC series this season and each of their four home series.
Florida will travel to Tallahassee on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. matchup against No. 12 Florida State.
