Weekend in Gators Sports: Fall Baseball Still Undefeated, Swim and Dive Splits Dual

November 2, 2026

Florida men’s and women’s swim and dive split a dual meet at Georgia on Friday, while Gators baseball held it down in Gainesville on Sunday to continue its dominant 4-0 fall streak.

Swim and Dive

The No. 3 men’s swim and dive team gathered 10 wins across 14 swimming events to beat the Bulldogs 197-107. The No. 13 women’s team fell 197-97.

Sophomore Nil Cadevall swept all three of his individual events, continuing his streak for the fourth consecutive meet this season. He was victorious in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and 400 individual medley. He was on the winning 200 medley relay which also featured junior Devin Dilger, who earned first in all of his events.

Dilger had standout individual performances in both the 50 and 100 freestyle with times of 19.52 and 43.29, respectively.

Junior Luke Corey held the Gators weight on the distance side, claiming the 1,000 freestyle title.

Senior Jonny Marshall secured the win in the 100 backstroke in 47.50 with senior Scotty Buff finishing right behind him in 47.64. Junior Aiden Norman added to the men’s individual victories in the 200 backstroke.

A squad of Dilger, Norman, Buff and Marvin Johnson Jr. closed out the meet on a high note by winning the 400 freestyle relay.

Sophomore diver Jesus Agundez Mora swept the diving slate for the men and earned a career-best 412.05 on the 3-meter. The Gators also saw a second-place finish from junior Miguel Tovar on the 3-meter with a score of 385.95. Senior Conor Gesing jotted down another top three finish for Florida, finishing in third in the 1-meter.

Several swimmers on the women’s side secured runner-up honors for the Gators. Senior Lainy Kruger earned second in the 200 butterfly and contributed to the runner-up 400 freestyle relay squad. Freshman Valentina Procaccini put up a second-place performance in the 500 freestyle and junior Julie Brousseau did the same in the 200 individual medley.

Senior Catie Choate and freshman Maddie Moreth each secured two three place finishes. Choate earned bronze in the 100 and 200 backstroke and Moreth did the same in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

The women finished strong with a slate of Choate, Kruger, Maeline Bessard and Sylvia Statkevicious teaming for the second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.

Florida women’s dive was victorious in both events. Senior Camyla Monroy won the 1-meter with a score of 344.25 and came in third in the 3-meter, tallying 300.00 points.

Sophomore Alexa Fung took the title in the 3-meter with a 304.73 and earned third in the 1-meter with 277.13 points.

Florida swim and dive will be back in Bulldog territory on Nov. 19 for the four-day Georgia Invitational.

Baseball

Florida baseball gave Gators fans a taste of spring this weekend at Condron Family Ballpark.

Schuyler Sandford, Jackson Barberi and Trey Morris headlined the game against Mercer with two scoreless, no-hit innings a piece.

Sandford was awarded the win after tallying four strikeouts and zero walks.

The pitching staff held the Bears to four hits and five walks across 11 ½ innings, giving the Gators the victory 9-3.

Although Florida was on the calendar for a 12-inning matchup, Gainesville’s nickname rang true, ending the game in “Rainesville” due to inclement weather in the top of the 12th.

The Gators batting order provided a comfortable lead, proving that sometimes the best defense is a good offense.
