** The Gator women’s basketball team moves to 2-1 in SEC play with a 61-55 road win at Mississippi State on Thursday. Guard Jaterra Bonds leads the way with 17 points. Florida now hosts ninth ranked Tennessee Sunday.
** In men’s SEC play Kentucky downs Vanderbilt 60-58 in the league opener for both teams.
** Many believed former Gator Tim Tebow would end up with the Jacksonville Jaguars if he is released by the New York Jets but the new general manager of the Jags says he cannot see any way Tebow would end up with the team.
** The Cleveland Browns have reportedly hired former Browns assistant Rob Chudzinski as their new head coach. Chudzinski this past season was the offensive coordinator for Carolina in the NFL.
** The divisional round of the NFL playoffs commences this weekend. In the AFC, Denver hosts Baltimore and New England hosts Houston while in the NFL Green Bay travels to face San Francisco and Atlanta hosts Seattle.
