Kansas City nips Cleveland 2-1 as Bruce Chen wins his fifth straight start; Minnesota hammers Detroit 11-4; Chicago blasts Seattle 9-3 and Baltimore and New York split a doubleheader.

In the National League, St. Louis downs Pittsburgh 7-4; Houston nips San Francisco 4-3; Arizona downs San Diego 6-1 to open a four game lead over the Giants in the NL West. Milwaukee nips Chicago 3-2 and Cincinnati gets by Washington 5-4.
