Tiger Woods is back, baseball is in full swing and that’s some of the highlights in this Friday look at Sports News And Notes…
- Tiger Woods played his first competitive round of golf since May and did reasonably well, shooting a two under par 68 in the first round of the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio. The first round leader is Adam Scott who shot a sizzling 62 in his opening round.
- The New York Yankees have tied the Boston Red Sox for the top spot in the American League East as the two teams prepare for a huge weekend series in Boston. The Red Sox lost to Cleveland 7-3 Thursday while New York completes a sweep of Chicago with a 7-2 win.
Tampa Bay beat Toronto 7-6 in 11 innings and in the National League St.Louis beat Florida 7-4. Atlanta had the night off.
