Steve Stricker ties a record at a major championship by shooting a seven under par 63 in the first round of the PGA Championship in Atlanta.
Meanwhile it was not a good day for Tiger Woods who has his worst first round in a major championship ever as he staggers to a seven over par 77.
Jerry Kelly is two shots back of Stricker at 65 and Shaun Michael is another shot back. Former Gators Brian Gay and Camilo Villegas are in the tournament as well; Gay shot a two over par 72 while Villegas comes in at even par 70.
It was an eventful day for Rory McElroy; he hit a root on a shot early in the round and walked around the course with ice on his hand and completed the round.
