Gator football coach Will Muschamp says wide receiver Omarius Hines could miss the season opener for Florida next week because of a hamstring injury.
And that wasn’t the only bad news after the Gators scrimmaged on Wednesday night; Muschamp said he was not pleased with some aspects of the scrimmage. This was Florida’s final tuneup before opening its season next week.
Muschamp also hinted some starters could be in jeopardy of losing their positions after seeing their work in the scrimmage. He said the effort is there but he added that it is frustrating not seeing the entire team on the same page in its approach to the game.
Muschamp is going to field a young team this season and he called his team “immature” after its scrimmage on Wednesday.
In addition to Hines, Muschamp said quarterback John Brantley sat out most of practice with a sore back and that defensive back Jeremy Brown was also out with a knee problem.
Florida will go full pads today and get back on the practice field.
