- NFL teams have to be down to 80 players by 4pm today and cuts are being made; unfortunately, former Gator defensive end Duke Lemmens is released by the Arizona Cardinals.
- The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly given quarterback Mike Vick a new six year, $100 million deal. And the Indianapolis Colts have activated quarterback Peyton Manning from the physically unable to perform list but whether his injured neck will allow him to play opening day is still up in the air.
- A lawyer for suspended LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson says he’s going to ask coach Les Miles and the school to lift the indefinite suspension put on Jefferson over his part in an alleged bar fight a few days ago. The attorney says he should play as the legal process plays out in court or elsewhere.
- And the U.S. Open is underway with the best players in the tennis world on hand in New York to play.
