D'Backs Win Eighth Straight In MLB

The Arizona Diamondbacks won their eighth game in a row on Tuesday, beating the Colorado Rockies 9-4. The win gives Arizona a six game lead in the National League West after second place San Francisco lost 5-2 to Chicago.

In other NL action, Los Angeles downs San Diego 8-5; St.Louis edges Milwaukee 2-1; Houston downs Pittsburgh 8-2; Florida blanks New York 6-0; Philadelphia blanks Cincinnati 9-0 and Washington hammers Atlanta 9-2.

In the American League, C.C. Sabathia struggled but won his 18th game as New York downs Boston 5-2 to move to within a half game of Boston for the AL East lead.

In other AL action, Detroit edges Kansas City 2-1; Chicago downs Minnesota 8-6; Baltimore nips Toronto 6-5; Cleveland downs Oakland 6-2; Texas blanks Tampa Bay 2-0 and Los Angeles rips Seattle 13-6.
