  • The local high school football season kicks off tonight as Oak Hall will host Florida Deaf And Blind. The majority of the action takes place tomorrow night with games like Buchholz facing Eastside and Santa Fe taking on Newberry.
  • Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson is not winning many friends these days. On Twitter, Johnson tweeted to “fake fans” that he did not have a regular job like everyone else and that he could care less if people thought he was greedy. Johnson is currently in a holdout, wanting a new contract.
  • There is another round of NFL exhibition games on tap for tonight as Tampa Bay plays at Washington with Baltimore at Atlanta, Dallas at Miami and St.Louis at Jacksonville among others.
  • During the SEC Coaches Teleconference yesterday, Gator coach Will Muschamp said quarterback John Brantley’s sore back is fine and that he is healthy for the opener on Saturday.
