After two warmup games, the Gator football team begins what some players termed the “real season” with the SEC opener this Saturday at home against Tennessee.
The Vols are 2-0 on the year after beating Cincinnati at home this past Saturday in a very impressive offensive performance for quarterback Tyler Bray who threw for over 400 yards in the victory.
The Vols are very much like Florida in that there is a lot of youth on their teams and many of those young players are either forced to, or have earned, playing time on both sides of the ball.
The new polls are also out and the top five are identical in the Associated Press and USA Today polls with Oklahoma number one followed by Alabama, LSU, Boise State and Florida State. The Seminoles get Oklahoma this week at home.
The Gators are 16th in the AP poll and 17th in the USA Today poll while Tennessee is unranked.
