September 13, 2011

New England quarterback Tom Brady threw for a franchise record 517 yards to lead his Patriots to a 38-24 win over the Miami Dolphins in Miami on Monday Night Football.

Brady found receivers open all night but especially the tight ends and wide receiver Wes Welker. Welker caught eight balls for 160 yards and former Gator tight end Aaron Hernandez also caught a touchdown pass.

In the other game on Monday night, the Oakland Raiders beat the Denver Broncos 23-20 as running back Darren McFadden rushes for 150 yards. Kicker Sebastian Janikowski also kicked an NFL record tying 63 yard field goal in the win.

Denver had a lot of players injured in the game but still managed to keep it close thanks to the passing of quarterback Kyle Orton. The running game of Denver was shut down and Orton was forced to put the ball in the air.
