Big High School Game Tonight As GHS Hosts Trinity Catholic

One of the area’s more anticipated matchups in high school football takes place tonight at Citizen’s Field in Gainesville when Class 6A Gainesville High School hosts Class 3A Ocala Trinity Catholic.

Both teams are ranked in their respective classifications; GHS is number nine while Trinity Catholic is number three. The two teams have split two previous meetings in the last two years.

GHS earlier this year beat Orlando Dr. Phillips High School, a state ranked team in Class 8A while Trinity Catholic fell to state ranked North Marion earlier this year.

St. Francis High School in Gainesville will also play tonight at Florida School For The Deaf. Running back Grant Maris leads the Wolves on offense as they look to go 3-0 on the season; Florida Deaf is 0-2 including a loss to Oak Hall.
