Gator football coach Will Muschamp said on Wednesday that running back Jeff Demps and defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd will both play Saturday against Tennessee.
Demps has an injured shoulder and did not play after getting hurt early in last week’s game. Tight end Jordan Reed appeared to hurt his ankle last week and didn’t play a lot and Muschamp also said he is good to go.
Muschamp said in an SEC Teleconference Wednesday that Floyd has met all the necessary requirements as laid out by the NCAA to be able to play on Saturday. Floyd will have to pay a charity $2700 after the NCAA ruled he received improper benefits from a non-profit organization.
On that same SEC Teleconference, Tennessee coach Derek Dooley gushed about Florida’s talent, sounding a lot like his father Vince used to when he always would praise the opponent he was playing that week while coaching at Georgia. Dooley said the Gators have a great defensive line, one of the best in the country, and he said he’s worried about how his young offensive line will match up with that unit.
