Texas A&M Officially In SEC Leads Monday Sports News

The Southeastern Conference officially has a new member today and that leads our stories in Monday Sports News And Notes…

  • With little surprise, the SEC has formally announced that Texas A&M will be a new member of the league. The move will become effective next July.
  • Tony Stewart possibly made himself the favorite in the Chase For The Cup as he wins his second straight race, this time winning in New Hampshire after Clint Bowyer ran out of gas with two laps to go. Brad Keselowski finished second but everyone now trails Stewart.
  • Mike Locksley, former Gator assistant coach, has been fired by New Mexico after his team lost to Sam Houston State this past Saturday; Locksley went 2-26 as head coach of the Lobos.
  • The Gator football team continues to move up in the polls; after beating Kentucky Saturday Florida moves up three spots in both polls to 12th this week. Florida faces its biggest test of the season when it hosts third ranked Alabama Saturday.
