Leak Signs With Arena League Team; Sports News And Notes

Former Gator quarterback Chris Leak has signed on to play in the Arena League with the Jacksonville Sharks.

Leak, appearing on WRUF’s Sportscene program on Wednesday, told host Steve Russell that he was going to sign “with a team in the Arena League very close to Gainesville” during the show and that team is Jacksonville.

  • Former Gator tight end Cornelius Ingram meanwhile is looking for a new team today after being released from the practice squad of the Detroit Lions.
  • LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson could be back at practice today after a grand jury reduced charges against him to a misdemeanor stemming from his involvement in a bar fight a few weeks ago. Jefferson and teammate Josh Johns were originally charged with felonies in the case.
  • Florida State wide receiver Greg Reid had charges of resisting arrest and perjury dropped by the State Attorney overseeing the case.
  • In college football, nationally ranked South Florida plays Pittsburgh tonight and in high school football locally, unbeaten Santa Fe High faces winless Buchholz.
