ESPN and other sources are reporting today that it is only a matter of time before West Virginia is accepted as a member of the Big 12.
This move was apparently made with the thinking in mind that Missouri is going to leave the Big 12 to join the SEC, although that has not been formally announced.
While this move would allow the Big 12 to stay at 10 members, the Big East takes another significant hit if the Mountaineer program moves. However, the Big East is looking to regroup by adding schools such as Air Force, Boise State, Navy, SMU and Central Florida to its league to play football.
There is no apparent timetable in place for either the Missouri move or the West Virginia move but sources say both moves will happen.
