Thursday Sports News And Notes
Here are some of the things happening in the sports world on this Thursday…
- After rain washed it out last night, the Texas Rangers and the St.Louis Cardinals will try to play Game 6 of the World Series tonight in St.Louis. Colby Lewis is the scheduled starter for Texas against Jaime Garcia for the Cardinals. Texas can win the Fall Classic with a win tonight.
- Pittsburgh beats Connecticut 35-20 in college football last night. Quarterback Tino Sunseri threw for a career high 419 yards as Pittsburgh improves to 4-4 on the year. Connecticut falls to 3-5.
- Not so fast my friend…media reports yesterday had West Virginia getting and accepting a move to the Big 12. Now various media outlets are reporting the move is on hold while Louisville is being looked at as a possible candidate to go to the Big 12.
- Ole Miss will get some help in basketball as the NCAA has cleared junior Murphy Holloway to play right away. Holloway, a 6’7” junior, started his career at Ole Miss but transferred to South Carolina last year to be nearer to his home because of family issues. He was never released from his scholarship at Ole Miss and now that his family issues are cleared up, the NCAA is allowing him back at Ole Miss with no penalties.
