With the possibility of winning the SEC East now officially gone and saddled with a four game losing streak, the Gator football team looks to come back home Saturday to get a win to move toward qualifying for a bowl when the Vanderbilt Commodores come to town.
Florida completed an 0 for October when it lost 24-20 to Georgia on Saturday in a game that featured a second half where the Gators gained only 34 total yards with an ineffective run game and a passing game that lost steam after a promising start.
Florida is 4-4 and needs two wins to be bowl eligible and now a decent Vanderbilt team comes to town under new coach James Franklin who has the Commodores playing very competitive football.
Vanderbilt lost a heartbreaker against Arkansas (3 points) this past weekend and the previous weekend Vandy beat Army. The weekend before that the Commodores fell by just five points to Georgia, losing 33-28. So the Commodores have plenty to play for here as they try to become bowl eligible and beat Florida for the first time since the late 1980’s.
Game time Saturday is 12:21pm.
