Gators Try To Regroup Against Vandy
The 4-4 Gator football team tries to regroup and get a win at home as it hosts Vanderbilt this Saturday.
Gator coach Will Muschamp said on Monday he hopes to have some injured players back practicing this week who did not play Saturday including kicker Caleb Sturgis, running back Mike Gillislee and offensive lineman Chaz Green. He also said cornerback Cody Riggs was ok after being hurt in the Georgia game but added linebacker Lerentee McCray as “questionable to probable” for this week after hurting his shoulder last week.
Muschamp said quarterback John Brantley is fine after playing for the first time in several weeks against Georgia and that he hopes his health and ankle will continue to improve. Brantley will start this week because Muschamp feels he gives Florida the best chance to win and freshman Jacoby Brissett is now listed as the backup quarterback.
Vanderbilt is also 4-4 on the year and looking to become bowl eligible and the Commodores are coming off a hard fought three point loss to nationally ranked Arkansas last week.
