Georgia Suspends Running Back Crowell, Others
The University of Georgia announced it has suspended freshman starting running back Isaiah Crowell and two others for unspecified violations of team rules.
One week after beating arch rival Florida, Georgia prepares for New Mexico State this week without Crowell and fellow running backs Carlton Thomas and Ken Malcome for failed drug tests, according to ESPN.com. Georgia’s depth at tailback took a further hit when Richard Samuel, the top backup, had ankle surgery after suffering the injury against Florida.
The depth at the position is now razor thin for this week’s game and Georgia is considering using freshmen, fullbacks and walk ons to fill the tailback void.
