Number One Union County Wins In High School Football

Union County High School, the number one school in Class 1A Diistrict 7 got a scare from Newberry High School on Thursday before pulling out a 14-7 win. The Panthers entered the fourth quarter with a 7-9 lead but the Tigers rallied for the win to go 9-0 on the year.

In other Thursday prep action, Santa Fe High is now 8-1 after waxing Eastside 42-0 as the Raiders improve to 8-1 on the year. Eastside falls to 3-6.

PK Yonge got a win, topping Jacksonville Christ’s Church Academy 36-20 and GHS rips Lecanto 55-6 at Citizen’s Field in Gainesville.

There are several key district games scheduled for tonight in prep football in our area as well.
