As the Gator football team prepares to play a banged up South Carolina team this weekend, the Gamecocks did get some good news on the injury front when quarterback Connor Shaw was cleared to return to practice after suffering a concussion last week against Arkansas.
However, safety DeVonte Hollomon has not been cleared to return after also getting a concussion last weekend. There could be more good injury news for the Gamecocks as starting spur linebacker Antonio Allen could return this week after missing last week with a neck injury.
And of course, running back Marcus Lattimore is out as well, the biggest injury blow of all.
The injuries have taken their toll. Carolina has averaged a little less than 19 points a game in its last three contests and its defense has not been as good either.
The Florida injury situation appears better as quarterback John Brantley and running back Chris Rainey were back at practice and both are expected to play on Saturday.
