Two interim coaches in the NFL got significant wins on Sunday and one of those wins knocked the Green Bay Packers from the unbeaten ranks.
Romeo Crennel, the interim coach of Kansas City, got a huge win in his first game as coach as the Chiefs knock off previously unbeaten Green Bay 19-14. The loss drops the Packers to 13-1 and the win improves Kansas City to 6-8 and keeps them alive in the playoff picture.
And Todd Bowles gets his first win as the Miami Dolphins coach as they win 30-23 at Buffalo, extending the Bills losing streak to seven games.
In Denver, Tim Tebow’s magic was not good enough as the visiting New England Patriots drilled the Broncos 41-23. The Patriots clinch the AFC East with the win while the Broncos are still atop the AFC West at 8-6.
In other games, Indianapolis gets its first win of the year, beating Tennessee 27-13; Washington beats the New York Giants 23-10; Philadelphia routs the New York Jets 45-19; Seattle rips Chicago 38-14; New Orleans waxes Minnesota 42-20 as quarterback Drew Brees throws for over 400 yards and he now needs just 305 more to break Dan Marino’s single season passing record.
Cincinnati tops St.Louis 20-13; Arizona beats Cleveland 20-17 in overtime; Carolina beats Houston 28-13; Detroit rallies late to stun Oakland 28-27 and San Diego beats Baltimore 34-14 Sunday night.
