Gator Men's Hoops Hosts Mississippi Valley State Tonight

The Gator men’s basketball team, coming off perhaps its best game of the season when it beat then 22nd ranked Texas A&M on Saturday, returns home tonight to host Mississippi Valley State. You can hear the game live on WRUF Sports Radio 850 starting at 6:25pm.

Florida moved Erik Murphy back into the starting lineup Saturday and the move paid off nicely as he was able to hit some shots and stretch the A&M defense. While the Gators start only one senior in guard Erving Walker, Mississippi Valley State is scheduled to start five seniors tonight, led by 6’8” center Paul Crosby who averages 14 points and 5.4 rebounds a game.

Senior 6’3” guard Terrence Joyner averages 12.7 points and 3.6 assists a game as well. The Delta Devils have played two other SEC teams so far this year, losing to Arkansas and Ole Miss.

This is the first ever meeting between the schools as well.
